How this calculator works

Choose "Add GST" if you have a base price and want to know the final price including tax. Choose "Remove GST" if you have a final price and want to find out how much of it was the original amount versus the tax.

The formulas used

Adding GST: GST amount = Base × (Rate ÷ 100); Total = Base + GST amount. Removing GST: Base = Total ÷ (1 + Rate ÷ 100); GST amount = Total − Base.
